"Word of mouth has always been our best form of advertising" said Bob Hawkinson, one of the owners. "But, one day Jim and I got to talking about how much money we spend on advertising and how much it equates per car". Jim Hawkinson said "it's about $100 per car sold". So, we agreed to drop the advertising and send a letter to every customer and offer them the $100 if they send a friend or relative in to see us and they buy a car.
The response has been fantastic so far! Many of our Nissan customers are repeat buyers and often Mom and Dad buy a car, have a great experience, then they refer their son or daughter to us. Now, we will give Mom and Dad $100 for preregistering their child. "Why not", said Jim, "It's better that we give the money to a loyal customer rather than the newspaper or cable TV company".
