Nissan America Gets New Senior Manager of Corporate Social Responsibility

Nissan is committed to assisting people and organizations in need. From donating money and power to Habitat to Humanity, aiding relief efforts following natural disasters, to volunteering to help repair domestic abuse shelters... Nissan Americas commitment to social responsibility has been made clear. In fact, the Japanese automaker even has its very own dedicated Corporate Social Responsibility department. And, they've just appointed a new Senior Manager, Vicki Smith.

As head of the Corporate Social Responsibility, Nissan Americas, Smith will lead all of the organization's giving and community outreach efforts. For those of you who are maybe less familiar with Nissan's philanthropic initiatives, most of these efforts fall under one of three umbrella organizations: Nissan Neighbors, Quest for Safety and Snug Kids.

"We're strengthening the alignment of Nissan's philanthropy and community involvement across our operations worldwide, while continuing to meet the needs of individual communities where we have lost that presence - and Vicki's global experience and strengths as a communicator will play an important role in that effort," says David Reuter, VP Corporate Communications, Nissan Americas. 1 Scott Becker, Sr. VP, Administration and Finance, Nissan Americas.

In addition to assuming the Sr. Manager role in Nissan Americas' Corporate Social Responsibility department, Smith has also been asked to step in as Executive Director at the Nissan Foundation - an organization dedicated to helping pro-diversity education programs thrive.  Needless to say, she graciously accepted.

"We're very privileged to have Vicki join our Nissan Foundation team," said Scott Becker, Sr. VP and President, Administration and Finance, Nissan North America and President, Nissan Foundation. "Vicki is already active in several community programs, and I expect her experience in these matters to bring a focus to our philanthropic efforts."1
